Our successful programme in Exeter, Honiton, Axminster, Exmouth, Uffculme,Cullompton,Crediton and Sidmouth is aimed at the over 55's whilst our Cranbrook sessions are open to all ages, male and female .
The game is ideal for those who would like a gentle reintroduction to physical activity or who need to improve their baseline fitness. Of course, you are more than welcome to just come along to have some fun and meet new friends! Sessions are split into ten-minute games so participants can do as much, or as little, as they feel appropriate.
Simply turn up to the session, the first one is free, there is no need to register just turn up and give a try.
"Walking football is becoming increasingly popular – players from some of our sessions have even participated in national tournaments already,” said Pete Ferlie, Exeter City’s Health and Wellbeing Officer.“Of course, our sessions are open to anyone regardless of footballing ability, gender, shape or size – we are getting many referrals from local GPs who recognise this is a good option for some of their patients who need the health benefits of gentle activity. Players can just come along and try the sport and have great fun while getting some pain-free exercise."
