Table Tennis

Table tennis, ping pong, wiff waff – call it what you may, but there’s no doubt that it is one of the easiest and most fun participation sports to get into – and you can have a game with anyone, no matter what your ability.

Thanks to support from Sport England, we have a table tennis club here at St James Park.

The Centre Spot is transformed into a hub for the game, with tables, bats and balls all provided, along with free coaching. For those old hands at the game, we will set up matches and have a team competing in the Exeter Table Tennis League.

The club runs every Monday, with a new format starting from Monday 9th May, there will be two sessions. The first from 5:00-6:30pm which will specifically focus on coaching whilst the 6:30-8:00pm session provides the opportunity for game time.

Your first session is free, following that it will be £2 per person per session. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age or ability, You are very welcome to stay for both sessions at £4 its a steal !!

League Updates:

Jack Hannaford and Sebastian Burrows (picture below) are both twelve years old and attend on Mondays as well as playing in the Junior League for Exeter City Dream Team.  They were runners up before Christmas but are now top of the table and in a strong position to finish the current round of matches as winners.

On 12th March Jack beat his teammate Seb in a close quarter final at the Exeter and District Junior Closed Individual Championships.  Jack then went on to win the whole tournament against some very strong opposition.

Ten year old Lauren Loosemore is another ECFC youngster making great progress at table tennis.  Lauren also attends on Mondays and Tuesdays and recently finished second at the South West Region Under 11 qualifying competition in Plymouth.  She now goes forward to the Inter Regional finals to be held at Kettering in May."
