After School Clubs

Exeter City’s Football in the Community team aim to provide children with an opportunity to extend their after-school physical activities through a range of fun and interactive sessions.

The after-school programme provides children with an opportunity to take part in multisport and football sessions to help them develop their core life skills - for example social, communication and physical skills - by using the latest coaching methods supported by the FA and Sport England.

Sessions will include fundamental movement work, skill sessions, small-sided games and various competitions with the emphasis on having fun in a professional, safe and structured environment.

Please can I take this opportunity to thank Ben and the coaches for their work with Wilcombe this year. They have been absolutely fantastic; professional, confident, part of the team and fun. More importantly, the children and staff have acquired new skills and thoroughly enjoyed working with you. A massive thank you.

Louise Oxenham, Head of School, Wilcombe Primary School

The club runs from 3:30pm – 4:30pm (other times can be arranged on request) and children will take part in various activities outside either on grass or on hard court/Astro turf pitches. In the event of severe bad weather we will work with the school to arrange a suitable alternative venue.

All Exeter City Football Club’s coaching staff will have the following:

  • A CRB/DBS Certificate
  • A Level 1 or Level 2 qualification in Sports Coaching (or working towards a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification in Sports Coaching)
  • All equipment for the session (except goals, if required)
  • A contact number via mobile phone that they will have on them for the session
  • A uniform that will have an Exeter City Football Club logo on so that they are recognisable when attending your school
  • Each coach will work to a ratio of 1:15 children

The cost of a session is £3 per child and this can be paid for by cash or cheque. Payment can be made by the block for the term, for example £15 for a five-week term or £18 for a six-week term in advance, although we do understand that this is not always possible, so parents can pay £3 per session on an ad-hoc basis.
